Fleet Effect presents innovative Fleet Performance Contract (FPC) approach to alternative fuel powered heavy trucks operating on 100% LPG. Fleet Effect and AVT form a partnership to support the marketing of the Fleet Performance Contract (FPC).
AVT has established a partnership with Fleet Effect for marketing and distribution rights on AVT's range of patented 100% LPG Mercedes Benz Actros re-engineering systems to be incorporated into Fleet Effect's performance contract (FPC) package for heavy truck fleet customers.
The FPC offers an innovative and fully financed contract to companies operating heavy truck fleets. The FPC utilises unique technology solutions, including AVT's 100% LPG fuel re-engineering, GPS based telematics and full transport compliance reporting systems.

Fleet Effect drives worlds largest heavy truck LPG project for the AutoCRC.
In November 2006, Fleet Effect entered into an agreement as the Industry champion with the AutoCRC to drive the largest heavy truck LPG project in the world for the benefit of a number of SME’s and Australian manufacturing industry. Project Champion John Tsoucalas and Project Leader Kasie Smith will manage the multimillion dollar project that is expected to achieve major breakthroughs in the use of 100% LPG fuel in a V6 based Mercedes Benz Actros truck with over 350kW (460HP).
The key participants are AVT, the Victorian Partnership for Advanced Computing (VPAC), University of South Australia, MapData Sciences (MDS), Autolync, Elgas, Climate Positive and Daimler Chrysler (Somerton/Derrimut branch).
Participants have been assembled through the AutoCRC (Co-operative Research Centre for Advanced Automotive Technology) Federal Government initiative. The CRC Program was established by the Commonwealth of Australia in 1990 and is intended to both highlight and emphasize the importance of collaborative arrangements in order to maximise the benefits of research through an enhanced process of utilisation, commercialisation and technology transfer.

A Victorian based LPG tanker fleet owner, places an LPG powered V6 Mercedes Actros prime mover into commercial trials around Melbourne and regional areas. The LPG powered Actros provided fuel cost savings of thousands of dollars, with increased power and a boost of over 50% in torque rise, resulting in better handling of steep gradients. Cabin noise was significantly reduced and greenhouse gas emissions are also reduced with the virtual elimination of particulates. |
