GHG & Energy Reporting

Meeting the demands of the new National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) act in preparation for the Australian Emissions Trading System (AETS) due to commence in 2010.

What Is GHG?

A range of gases, including carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane and others, when combined contribute to the atmospheric global warming effect on our planet. For example, one litre of diesel fuel emits 2.7kg GHG.

What Is Energy and How is it Measured?

Electricity, natural gas and transport fuels converted into their energy content and represented as megajoule (MJ), gigajoule (GJ), terajoule (TJ) or petajoule (PJ). For example, one litre of diesel fuel equals 38.6MJ of energy.

Who must report GHG & Energy data?

Corporations meeting the phased GHG and energy thresholds will need to accurately measure their annual emissions and energy consumption from 1 July 2008, please refer to Threshold table.

Thresholds for GHG, energy and diesel for each year.
Corporation (Corp) = transport operator. Facilities = depots or distribution centres.

Example: Distribution centres with truck depots having fewer than 20 B-Double’s would exceed the threshold for a Facility. By 2010/11, Transport Operators with fewer than 40 B-double’s would exceed the Corporation threshold.

GHG & Energy data collection and reporting

Our web delivered Vehicle Management System (VMS) will allow for vehicle fuel data types (diesel, LPG, LNG, CNG, biodiesel, etc) to be entered. From which, both GHG and energy data will be derived and available for reporting.

Data shall be compiled for entry directly into the DCC’s OSCAR system to meet Government requirements.

Measure and Identify GHG/Energy Abatement

Automatically allocate GHG and energy savings from alternative fuel, such as LPG, LNG, CNG and biodiesel.

Allocate GHG offsets to vehicles, facilities or corporation.

Track GHG for future Australian Emissions Trading Scheme (AETS, starting 2010).

Compliance updates and Australian Emissions Trading Scheme (AETS) Readiness

All updates to GHG and Energy compliance regulations, State variations, and reporting changes are automatically provided at no additional cost.

When the AETS is operational in 2010, the VMS will be ready to suit the regulatory changes and other operational requirements.

KPI and Fuel Management Reporting

Analyse your business through detailed fuel consumption and cost reports combined with GHG and Energy data for each:

  1. Truck
  2. Driver
  3. Depot
  4. Department
  5. Customer Contract
    and much more...
KPI’s can be set for drivers, trucks, depots or customer deliveries and reported to management via the web.

Fuel tax credit reports can be generated for all vehicle fuel types in an ATO format, adjusted for current NTC charge variations.

Customised reports

Corporate reporting of GHG, energy and fuel data can be customised to suit specific management needs.
All reports can be provided in PDF or CSV formats, as well as web based HTML.
