Recent amendments to the CoR laws have passed through QLD parliament and are on their way to be implemented nationally. Key changes to CoR law include:
New primary duty to ensure safe practices for each party in the chain
A closer alignment with WHS laws including risk management and penalties
Inclusion of maintenance management responsibility
Significant increases to penalties (maximum $3 million for corporations, $300,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment for individuals)
These are significant changes to CoR that will greatly impact directors and officers of all transport companies.
